Acden is proud to announce our recognition by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) as a local Inclusion Champion. Last week, we were honoured to receive the Bronze Inclusion Champion designation as part of the Wood Buffalo Workplace Inclusion Charter—a testament to our commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization and beyond.

The Wood Buffalo Workplace Inclusion Charter brings businesses together to promote inclusive workspaces across our region. As a signatory, Acden has spent the past year implementing the Charter’s recommendations, laying the groundwork for lasting change.

Acden’s HR Manager, Carla Clark, reflects on the importance of leadership in driving these initiatives:

“The success of transformational workplace initiatives is often heavily dependent on the support and backing of the executive leadership. I’m constantly grateful to hold the role of HR Manager with Acden, a truly supportive organization that allows leaders to pioneer changes in inclusion, equity, and psychological safety. It was such an honour to attend the Wood Buffalo Workplace Inclusion Charter recognition event last week and receive the Bronze Inclusion Champion recognition on behalf of Acden. We have done a ton of work over the past year, planning and actioning the Charter recommendations for change. While change doesn’t happen overnight, we are so proud of what we have completed and the foundations we have laid for growth in the year ahead.”

Our commitment to building a more inclusive future is championed across our organization, including by Natalie Castro-Gentili, General Manager of Administrative Services:

“As the General Manager of Administrative Services, I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture. We believe that diversity drives innovation and success, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive future. Receiving the Workplace Inclusion Champion recognition from the Wood Buffalo Workplace Inclusion Charter is a tremendous honour. It reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusion and the positive impact of our collective efforts. This accolade inspires us to continue striving for excellence in creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.”

At Acden, we believe that inclusion isn’t just a goal—it’s a journey. This recognition serves as a milestone, highlighting the progress we’ve made and motivating us to continue paving the way for meaningful change.

We are grateful to the RMWB and the Wood Buffalo Workplace Inclusion Charter for their leadership in fostering workplace inclusivity and for recognizing the efforts of organizations like ours. With a solid foundation built and a shared vision for equity, diversity, and inclusion, we look forward to another year of growth and positive change.

Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on our journey and new initiatives. Together, we can create a more inclusive, supportive, and thriving workplace.
