In 2012 we completed the build of our LEED Gold certified corporate headquarters located in Taiganova Eco-Industrial Park in Fort McMurray. The only building of its kind in Northern Alberta, the building has many environmentally friendly features, including:
Scrap industrial mining tires are difficult to manage because of their size and density. Traditional recycling equipment cannot handle these tires.
After years of research and development, Titan Tire Reclamation Corp has perfected a unique environmental solution to process giant scrap mining tires that have been accumulating in Alberta’s Oil Sands.

In 2015 Acden Environment managed and transported over 48,300 metric tonnes of waste in the following streams: Of this waste, the total “weight” Acden Environment was able to recycle was 11,986 metric tonnes= 26,424,000 pounds.
In accordance with our green housekeeping policy, our partner, Acden Bee Clean, uses green cleaning products to maintain the Acden Corporate Headquarters. These green cleaning products are available to all employees for use in office and in house kitchen areas
Acden Tech Sonic has a patented technology to effectively and efficiently clean process equipment that not only utilizes water based chemistries but also recycles 70% of the water used during the cleaning process. Acden is committed to promoting and supporting sustainable commuting options for employees. With a carpool service, hybrid fleet vehicles, bicycle parking and front door municipal bus transportation, we encourage our employees to select alternative methods of transportation.
In an effort to reduce our carbon emissions and reduce fuel consumption and vehicle idling time, fuel efficient engines and ESPAR engine heaters were installed in all heavy duty equipment such as front loaders, pickers, luggers, flat decks and tractors.
For the past two years, in honor of Fort McMurray Environment Week, Acden employees have done their part in cleaning up Taiganova Eco-Industrial Park. To date, our volunteers were successful in collecting over 50 bags of garbage, scrap metal, wood and old office furniture.
In 2014, Acden Environment and Shell Canada collaborated on a community initiative that provided over 15,000 pounds of supplies to rural schools in the RMWB. The supplies were left over from a contract site and initially destined to be recycled. They were collected and brought to the Acden Environment waste management site where they were loaded into a shipping container. Dedicated teams at Shell Albian sorted through the entire container and separated the following supplies into 7 huge pallets which were divided between schools in Anzac, Conklin, Janvier and Fort Chipewyan.
